Trentino Alto Adige Wine Region

Alto Adige

In Valle Isarco, traditional grapes of German-speaking countries such as Kerner, Sylvaner and Gruner Veltliner are also widespread. Adige heavily relies on international grapes, with the sole exception of the Bolzano area, where the indigenous Schiava and Lagrein red varieties account for a large portion of the surface under vine. In northern areas such as Valle Isarco, traditional grapes of German-speaking countries such as Kerner, Sylvaner and Gruner Veltliner are also widespread.
